5 Goddesses of Love

1) Goddess of Love Venus: Erotic love

Venus is the Roman version of Aphrodite, the Greek Goddess of Love. Venus represents erotic and carnal love, and also represents beauty and creativity.

Connect with one of these Goddesses of Love if you feel you need to improve the erotic aspect of a relationship or attract more beauty into your life. I actually wrote a detailed article on how to work with Aphrodite Archetype.

There are countless stories about Venus (or Aphrodite) found in the Roman myths (and Greek myths). Most of them will present this Goddess as someone who seduces others with her beauty and charisma. She gets everything she wants from everyone because absolutely all people want to be with her.

Check some verses of the Homeric Hymn to Aphrodite below. You’ll notice how she is praised.

[1] I will sing of stately Aphrodite, gold-crowned and beautiful, whose dominion is the walled cities of all sea-set Cyprus. There the moist breath of the western wind wafted her over the waves of the loud-moaning sea [5] in soft foam, and there the gold-filleted Hours welcomed her joyously.

They clothed her with heavenly garments: on her head they put a fine, well-wrought crown of gold, and in her pierced ears they hung ornaments of orichalc and precious gold, [10] and adorned her with golden necklaces over her soft neck and snow-white breasts, jewels which the gold-filleted Hours wear themselves whenever they go to their father’s house to join the lovely dances of the gods.

And when they had fully decked her, [15] they brought her to the gods, who welcomed her when they saw her, giving her their hands. Each one of them prayed that he might lead her home to be his wedded wife, so greatly were they amazed at the beauty of violet-crowned Cytherea.

Hail, sweetly-winning, coy-eyed goddess! Grant that I may gain the victory in this contest, [20] and order you my song. And now I will remember you and another song also.

If you feel like you need this in your life, connect with Venus or Aphrodite!

2) Oshun Orisha: Self-love

Oshun Orisha is one of the most popular Orishas of all. She has a special place among the Goddesses of Love because she represents, above all things, the power of self-love. She is also related to freshwater and the emotions of love. In addition to representing self-love, Oshun Orisha also represents carnal love and motherhood .

She is always portrayed holding a mirror in which she contemplates her own beauty.

Oshun’s stories depict her as being extremely intelligent and clever. And she knows that! She is aware of her beauty and potential and thanks to that she always finds a way to get what she wants.

If you feel you need to love and value yourself more, meditate with Oshun and practice this love magic with her.

3) Parvati, the Hindu Goddess of marriage and union

Parvati is the Hindu Goddess of love. Parvati rules over the affective union and marriages and she’s also associated with erotic love and seduction. It’s said her mantra is capable of attracting a good marriage or even avoiding a tragic one!

If you want to attract a steady union, avoid a bad marriage, or even get rid of a marriage that did not work, try connecting with Parvati. As a Hindu Goddess, you can recite the Mantra to help you. Among the other Goddesses of Love, Parvati is the easiest one to connect with.

In Hindu Mythology, Parvati is always beside Shiva. They had two children, Kartikeya and Ganesha. Parvati is depicted as loyal, smart, and beautiful. She’s also very gentle and compassionate. Later in her life, she’s asked by Goddess Lakshmi to “lend” Ganesha as an adoptive child. She accepts in order to help Lakshmi and Ganesha spiritually grow together. This is symbolic, though. Lakshmi symbolizes riches and Ganesha symbolizes wisdom.

4) Goddess of love Freya: Love and Strength

Freya (or Freyja) is the Norse Goddess related to love and beauty. In addition, Freyja is an excellent warrior and the leader of the Valkyries. Due to this, she’s a bit different from the other Goddesses of Love. She’s also a Goddess of War!

She’s always strong and determined and she travels through the heavens on her chariot drawn by wild cats. In her stories, Freyja is always regarded as an extremely strong and beautiful warrior , conciliating both aspects into one being.

If you feel there are blocks on your path towards love, work with Freyja and face these obstacles with all your strength so that your path can be free.

5) GOddess Isis: Love, healing, and magic

Isis is the Egyptian Goddess of love and magic. Isis was able to overcome all the pain of the loss of Osiris and brought him back to life using her own magic. She shows that it is always possible to overcome situations once we believe in ourselves.

Among the Egyptian deities, there are different Goddesses of Love. Before Isis take the role and become the most popular Goddess in the area, there was another very important Goddess of Love : Hathor.

Isis encompasses many of Hathor’s qualities related to love, beauty and grace. It’s like Hathor blessed Isis with them.

However, different from Hathor, the stories with Isis are more related to royalty and she’s usually depicted as a Queen. Her magic plays an important role too! Isis used is to heal wounds, including love wounds.

If you are hurt because of love, meditate with Isis so that you can overcome this episode and move on, leaving no scars behind.
